Just a quick update, I’m working on my “other” project, it’s both software and numismatic related. Surprise, Surprise. A few lessons I’ve learned building Knewmismatic

1. Partnerships. Building your dream is nice, but you must reach out to the wider community earlier. I’m doing that and it lead me to partner.

1. Testing. As an outgrowth of #1, I’ve tested the design and approach earlier and more often. I’m glad I did.

1. Search is still hard. If you’ve read my previous posts, you will know my feelings on search. Wow.

I’ve really focused on the categorization and technical aspects of search from the time it was an idea in my head. This help me understand how people will access information and how the information architecture needs to support it and how navigation and search mesh with IA.

4) Content. My content strategy was done early in development, not as an after thought. I appreciate everyone’s help.
